VERTIGO

Down Below and Looming Above

A Shadow of the fall and ominous distance

The distaste of the sight it would be

Fear and Freedom in a sarcastic parody

What feelings go through the mind

When the Fall is called a “Free” Fall

Is it free of the images of grief and strife

Of failed aspirations and exalting moments

The cold fear dominates the imagination

The colored imagery of the destination

The hard ground against a fragile body

A free fall and pinch of reality in gravity

The body flies down and ground rises

And surreal thoughts cloud the brain

Happiness Fear Violence Freedom

An acoustic guitar plays a psychedelic rhythm

It’s the Calm of the Saints On the edge

The violent gale meets an indifferent race

Emotions that the scarred face would not forgo

Is this the mind that just experienced a Vertigo?
