Home

There are shadows and there is a race

There are looks, of miles under their grace

Blown and tired I look for that place

With just you , me and sanctity of your face

There are races and there are mice

There are stories about who won it thrice

I tried to run and I paid some price

I take a break and look for your laughing eyes

There is victory and there are men of heart

There are men who want everything from the start

Some get bloodied , some build a wall

I look for the smile to nurse my fall

There is a creator and there is a mimic

There is a legend about how he does his trick

There is a face to the mimic and there is a tone

I look to shed this in the reality of your home

The Forbidden

Oh! the Sparkle of the Sly Eye

The Keeper of an unspoken lie

Eye that let a lonely heart cry

Eye that let a lost heart die

Eye that makes an innocent heart fly

Eye that makes an admiring heart try

Eyes that could admire you, could never judge

A Lustful Dream dreamt, could never touch

A Night Long Walk that had just one thread

An hour of conversation that just praised your red

The Glass of Wine which did not conquer the dread

Words rehearsed, never said

The Distance on which you weave a spell

The Forbidden Stories you know, can never tell

The Night before the day the lovelorn warrior fell

The Telling Rope over the darkness of the well

The Last Line before the poet’s pen fell

The broken face on the dead man’s cell

The Line

The message wasn’t ever so clear

I own the time, when my time is near

“Finally!” They Say “ He touched a Chord”

Sad! it ends up being his final word

Some ever so lonely walks it took

The shedding of some unpopular thoughts

The Surprise present on an unexpected nook

A diversion which skewed away a planned path

Blue Flumes from a Cigarette fumed away a streak

The lost gleam gave way to the undreamt

He does need to walk to the pedestal they said

If your story is ever to be heard

“Why cant I leave some open questions”

He is 24 and is one of the unruly sons

It isn’t always perfect to be good

Wouldn’t Would be better than the Should

Redemption is the flavor of the season

They dream every night, and we redeem

What use is another take on your dry reason

“Nobility” in your story is the everyman dream

The fumes blackened a breathing lung

Redundant ideas were seen flying in the sky

In the death throes I decided the line

Here ends my story which is not mine

I hid that line in realms of the college victory

When it twisted to necessitate that pink love

While She smiled, when he pulled one more of his antics

They call the line one of my mysterious tricks

Can You Take Me Higher

A New Thought devoid of your past
Memory you will etch till I last
An idea out of the indulgent you
Create Something which is just true

Something higher than this high earth
Away from this darkness and this dearth
A New Line out of the thoughts of the old book
A success story which does not praise hook and crook

A color not in the palette of the hues
A treasure which does not rely on the clues
An art which does not praise just the muse
A Feeling which does not feel only obtuse

A creation not in tune with the old tune
A breeze which does not break the dune
A poetry which ignores the beauty of the moon
The best act which is not coming so soon

The life of an eye which does not live on praise
A law of attraction which does not talk of the grace
An idea of proximity beyond the reach of an embrace
A golden hour which does not run the ugly race

A story which I always strive to understand
A sight which for its life, time can withstand
A Lofty creation which is yet so near
I just want a thought that takes me higher!

But

A wall of stone broken long ago

Many holes for the wind to flow

For Every House Abandoned beyond that wall

There was still a hopeful man who stood tall

A heart thrown at every stone’s throw

By every damsel who ever decided a blow

The ideas of a pretty life which never went above

The Hopeful heart of a man, still would love

Every Mediocre song that hit the chart

Some rule of honesty was always torn apart

The golden gate provided the copy a higher rate

There was a Hopeful Man who still would create

A world supposed to fall apart and would never mend

For every law created , a law would bend

The shadier the deal the better you will live

There will always be a man, who would believe

WAKE UP SLEEP WALKER

Wake up Oh Sleep Walker

The Colors have changed

Exchange a dream for a fact

Lest you are termed Deranged

Where art thou, Oh Sleep Walker

Playing an acoustic six string in a dream show

Finding absconding love in marked eyebrow

Imagining pearly rivers at stone’s throw?

The King has just changed the deal

Dream Land is now Long years away

The beautiful collection of words you believed

Has been burnt with the OUT tray

The dusky beauty wants a better deal

Laws of Attraction are not in favour

Game Plan needs a change, Sleep Walker

Some Prejduices are the season’s flavour

Pinch yourself oh Sleep Walker

And raise the relevant questions

Some greatness to forsake for survival

Life should not be an ugly revelation

AN IDEA GREATER THAN LIFE

A boy of eighteen walked on the road

Making pictures and losing sense

Enraged and at peace, Confused and Resolved

Searching for that image, where the journey ends

Do I need a purpose for living this life

Or Is the purposelessness the purpose of life

Sketching The illusions of a dreamer

Destroying the illusions as a survivor

The sage on the road asked a question

“Do you believe in an idea greater than life?

You Live and you die, breathe the air, love and lie

Have you given the thought to that unfair sky?”

“Where is such an idea Oh Revered one?”

“Read the Scriptures my Lost Son

There are sacrifices at the altar of ideas

Blood drawn and blood spent for an idea to live

Wield a gun and protect that idea

A way of life for sanity of heaven

Ignorant cynics need a lesson

An image of victory for journey at end”

“Look above oh disillusioned Sage

A dove has a branch of olive in its beak

God made colors and air to breathe

Sanity of heaven is here on this earth

I may be lost and maybe nowhere to go

But I know the gun with hatred is blind as an owl

I will walk on and shout at the end

There is no greater idea than just life and soul”

LETS MAKE NEW MEMORIES

Lets Make New Memories Together
In the honor of the day and its goods
Away from Law of the Land of the hoods
Let the time turn a full circle and begin

The cloud now has a different shade
Time has weathered that murk away
Erased is the wrong of that cocky flamboyance
The fling of the unsure with the arrogant rhyme

Oh lets fight those battles again
I will defend my wrongs, you proclaim your rights
You flare up on the cruelty of the knights
I would wonder at the flight of the kites

I am now the crowd in the bus
Biding time and in time I trust
You a homage to the patient saint
The depth of heart and break of the crust

Lets go around on that frozen lake
When ducks have deserted the time of the day
The moon and water, the beautiful imagery
Lets laugh on this world and its hurry

There would be a different people around
The stray speaker would have fallen aground
The green envy would have found a better lure
The bitter coffee would have taste of the pure

Lets create some new colours for the world
I will color the atrocities of the leader
You color the friend who did not stay around
Then we will jump ahead to a higher ground

The endless optimism and a desperate truth
Time does not turn when it should
The crowd in the bus has a thousand me
In the balcony, crying at the moon is the only you

VERTIGO

Down Below and Looming Above

A Shadow of the fall and ominous distance

The distaste of the sight it would be

Fear and Freedom in a sarcastic parody

What feelings go through the mind

When the Fall is called a “Free” Fall

Is it free of the images of grief and strife

Of failed aspirations and exalting moments

The cold fear dominates the imagination

The colored imagery of the destination

The hard ground against a fragile body

A free fall and pinch of reality in gravity

The body flies down and ground rises

And surreal thoughts cloud the brain

Happiness Fear Violence Freedom

An acoustic guitar plays a psychedelic rhythm

It’s the Calm of the Saints On the edge

The violent gale meets an indifferent race

Emotions that the scarred face would not forgo

Is this the mind that just experienced a Vertigo?

PAST LESS MIND

In Middle of Nowhere and holding nothing

Stands a man with blankness in Memory

He wonders about the hourglass and its sand

The heart of the past and the meaning of present

The scar has a coarse reality to it

Reality has no explanation of irony

Did he ever dream of a hopeful future

Imagining that the past would be redeemed

He looks at the crystal blue stretch

Touches the cold indifference of comfort

The sting of that first touch and a reassurance

Some feelings are not in your own sense

The nothingness parts and dream subsides

A crowd of thoughts and a face in sight

Face Says “Goals ahead and a past less mind

What takes you through is your heart’s might.”

“Where am I Oh face of wisdom

Dreams are made of man’s life

A dream to an incident, an idol to a mortal

That’s how the future does the past drive”

“Moment is what you live,

Moment is what you die

Moment is what you win

Life is what you Try ”

FREE ME

Free me from the ghosts of the past

The stains of blood from the last blast

The gun on the border of man’s imagination

The concept of lines they call the neighbouring nation

Free me from that thought of right

And the wrong meted out by other’s might

The thought of that yard where I lead

Patterns I attain by virtue of a creed

Free me from the randomness of fascinations

From Similar words in different renditions

The Drunken fits which lead to that moment of clarity

The sense of your nobility that I derive from charity

Free me from the disgust of the dirt

Death on the road with which I flirt

The Nasal Twangs of popular Mediocrity

The earnestness to the music of life’s alacrity

Free me from thoughts of freedom

The paths that lead to your kingdom

The world that is never in the world

An untoward dream of a story untold

Free me to the breeze of the bus window

To the flower at the stone’s throw

To the peace in an addiction less slumber

To the grace of the sun in 61st Summer.

HEROES FOR GHOSTS

In the night of the full moon

Just Out of the reach of the Oak’s Shadow

Lie three graves of melancholic melody

Legend has it that it belongs to one family

The third grave is the freshest one

The flower still blooms on the graveside

The Letters still coherent to make a name

A man who played such a strange game

His eyes never gave away a pain

When the legs were wobbling in the rain

A bloody mess of man never seen or heard

Says the leathery lonely roadside shepherd

He left carnage and some bodies to die

A silence so painful and a lady to cry

A Knife of young Valor found its way to his spine

Death was not heartless enough to that heartless swine

He wore no armor, rode no steed

Walked like a Cat and slayed for a creed

There was no heart but a lot of precision

Recounted the broken physician

One man stands in respect to the grave

A bum, a drunkard for which no heart craves

The carnage was the scar of silence, he cries

Where judgments are mere sounds of science

Never saw a foot so sure and refined

Right was wasted and wrong was not defined

Words gave way to a silence so ominous

The other man to judge was just so meaningless

A red haired boy laughs at the grave

Men without reasons were never meant to stay

The knife of my anger that found its way

Killed a hero who is a ghost today

My house did not catch your fire

Neither do I mourn a loss nor feel a pain

The freedom of your game violates a plan

Man should not play above the equality of a man.

THERE IS SOMETHING IN THIS PLACE

There is something in this place that makes me stay

The way the cloud streaks the sky grey

The dogs run in each other’s fray

The flower offers dew drops, a place to stay

The lazy droop of that climate on your face

The Lady on the drenched bill board presents her case

The paper boats in the gutters trying to win the race

The dream and the reality in a passionate embrace

The streaks on the bus window trapping the worlds fancy

The reflections and colors in that myopic fantasy

The richness of the brown on the field of Pansy

Green and its truth ends this story so classy

Moments stop and world ends in that hill top fog

I stand and you stand on that last rock

You look forward to fly in that endless space

I stand there and wish this was end of race

MY FAIR WEATHER FRIEND

Life on two lines that you see
Set a scale to perceive me
The truth lies not in that trend
Read between the lines my fair weather friend

Rain is beautiful, so are people drenched
A bland contradiction I stand at an end
See the light under the sun of March End
The Sweat is me, My fair weather friend

There are roads to destinations you know
Moments at the end of the road your crave
Did you enjoy the exalting roadside tea that was my blend
That lingering life is me, my fair weather friend

There are names on the boards of that beautiful colony
A pride riding on the flowers that adorn the road end balcony
Did you spare a thought to that skillful hand
That hand is me, my fair weather friend

Morsels are gold in that wretched slum
Dogs are men or Men are Dogs with bottles of rum
Do you see that rigged electricity in the house of that bum
That stolen light is me, My Fair Weather Friend.

2 DOWN 1 TO GO

The last sip from the glass
Has an effect that lasts
It is the difference between a day of horrors
And a Night that ended with a blast

A battlefield of victorious fallen warriors
Is better than a man who lost alive
After all at home there is a mirror
Which shows lines of futile scars

A walking hunter with a prize catch
And Mourning a dead black horse
Stands taller than a man with relieved breaths
And a regretful sight of that lost wreath

Its 2 down friends and one to Go
Its blood on brows friends and sweats to flow
Its just men on the other side friends
And, A lot of ground for warriors to throw.

Blasphemy

Blasphemy
When rays of bright sun pierce my mind’s night
And Leaves twist together for Caesar’s wreath
When the brick makers hearth sends out a smoke
The blasphemy of it delivers a final stroke

When the happiest boy on earth rides a donkey
When a hurt friend lets out a painful melody
When a hurtling truck lets out its crass cacophony
The blasphemy of it renders everything phony

When the cold breeze dries a cold sweat
When a tired body catches that well deserved breath
When a restaurant sends out yesterday’s food down the drain
The blasphemy of it drive the whole moment insane

Innocence

Innocence

Is it worded as Rosebud on an old sleigh
Or is it a Swami running a tyre on the Malgudi clay
Is it a friend shouting at the top of his voice
Or A Child sucking on the stolen ice

Are these the unseen words between the lines
An obvious understanding of words on the sly
A stained leg and a tattered school tie
Or a Mock home with the first girl friend

Is it that I have lost sense of sense
Or is it that it is too simple to make sense
Do not know what you call it
I just call it plain innocence.

Voices Within

Decked in the white bridals
An epitome of their ideals
A smile of self righteousness
All she lost was Self

Some clouds were set on the mind
Happiness was written on them
And there was a sun beyond
The heat of which she never saw

Thinking is an unforgiveable sin
Its all written to follow
No matter what is you feel within
The paths are set by sounds so hollow

Judgement day is the day
When the great ones ask
What my child is your greatest sin?
I did not hear those voices within.

Some Muscles and a Mind

The writing is on the wall
The drooping eyes see them
The head lifts itself
And falls again in that comforting slumber

Some Muscles are too lazy to move
They stand head to head with those eyes
And stare along at the spectacle
That Movement they call life

The Mind has a point to speak
But it has a part to play
After all it is just one
Of those Million fallen pieces

It gathers some courage
This is too much comfort
There is a creation waiting there
What it needs is a body to break free

A spark it sends
Some shackles are broken
A potential is realised
A revolution is born.
